Missions Emphasis Month – Week 1 (February 3)

Our missions emphasis month begins this Sunday, February 3, as we are challenged by our theme – REACH1. We’ll plan on having our teens and adults together for the Sunday School and Adult Bible Fellowship hour at 9:30 a.m. and then we’ll join as well for our Morning Worship Service at 10:30 a.m. Please try to be on time so our speaker will have all the time he needs to share with us what God has laid on his heart. Here are some things to keep in mind for the day.

  1. Pastor Alec Millen from One City Church in Lancaster will be speaking in both services at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. He’ll share his testimony of how God led him to Christ while he was pursuing a career in professional football and will be preaching on the importance of persevering in sharing the Gospel with people in our community.
  2. Be on the lookout for Carey the Hedgehog and Missionary Bucks hidden around the building each week. Prizes will be awarded in our morning service for those who find them!
  3. Lunch will be served at the church after the morning service. Street food will be on the menu as we anticipate our afternoon ‘football’ match in the gym. All are invited to either play or watch the game. Invite your friends!
  4. Connect groups are encouraged to host or attend Super Bowl parties in the evening as a way of making connections with friends in our community.

Please note as well that we will be taking special offerings each week for our guest speakers and for the overall missions outreach of our church. For those who would like to participate throughout the month, we will also be collecting underwear, socks, personal items, and cash for Conestoga Valley Christian Community Services. Please pray about the needs of our speakers, the missionaries we support, and those ministered to by CVCCS and give as God leads you in your heart.

We’re looking forward to a great month and hope everyone can join us!
