February is Missions Emphasis Month

As has been our custom for the past 2 years, February has once again been set aside as a special month to emphasize missions and to focus our attention on the need to spread the Gospel around the world. I have found this to be an excellent way to break through the doldrums of winter in preparation for the arrival of spring. I hope you will make your plans to be in attendance. In addition to our scheduled activities on Wednesday evenings, the schedule for the month will be as follows:

Saturday, February 4 at 8:30 a.m. – Men’s Breakfast at CBC with Baptist Mid-Missions Vice President and Play-Ball Founder and Director, Dave Ferguson

Sunday, February 5 at 9:30 a.m. & 10:30 a.m. – Regular services with Baptist Mid-Missions Vice President and Play-Ball Founder and Director, Dave Ferguson

Saturday, February 11 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. – Home missions project – All Church Work Day

Sunday, February 19 at 9:30 a.m. & 10:30 a.m. – Regular services with Missionaries Ron & Sharon Redlinger, on deputation to the country of Zambia.

Sunday, February 26 at 9:30 a.m. & 10:30 a.m. – Regular services with Missionaries John & Michele Morgan, on deputation with International Training and Healthcare Ministries.

Bookending the Missions emphasis month are two other events you should be aware of as follows:

  1. The first is an exciting opportunity that was presented recently to our family to travel with other ministry friends of ours to the country of Jamaica. This is a trip their family has taken on several occasions to expose their children to cross-cultural ministry and to share the Gospel together as a family with people who are less fortunate than themselves. While many think of Jamaica as a vacation destination, there are many neighboring communities outside of the touristy areas with people in need of Christ. Please pray for us!
  2. The second is the bitter-sweet opportunity that we have to commission one of our own families as they are about to launch out into pastoral ministry at Bedford Bible Church in Bedford, PA on March 5. During their last service with us on February 26, we would like to set aside a special time in our service to commission Brian and Brystin Blais and their family, acknowledging this calling from God and praying over them for their future ministry. A fellowship lunch has been planned after the service in order for us to properly say our ‘good-byes’. I am excited to see how God will use them as they serve our brothers and sisters in Bedford.

I can’t think of any better ways to begin and end our Missions Emphasis Month than with a missions trip and sending a family off into ministry. I hope you will make your plans to be in attendance each Sunday in February for this special emphasis.
